Granita is actually very easy to prepare. You only need fresh fruit, water and sugar (or honey).
Positive: delicious and refreshing!
Negative: the process of granita is a bit long though, you have to be at home to check on it from time to time.
- 2 ripe peaches
- 25 cl water
- 2 tbspoons honey (or 50g sugar)
Prepare the syrup: bring 25 cl of water to a boil then add honey (or sugar). Stir and bring to a simmer for about 2 minutes. Remove from the heat and let cool.
Peel peaches and remove the stone. Cut in pieces and blend until smooth.
Combine peach purée with syrup and transfer to metal or glass pan (it should be about 1 cm high or it’ll take longer to freeze).
Place in freezer for about 1 hour (but the time will depends on your freezer and the thickness of your preparation).
Once ice crystals begin to form, scrape with a fork to incorporate them back into the preparation. Keep freezing and scraping every half an hour until your peach granita is completely frozen with fluffy crystals.
My advice: I would definitely add some prosecco for a #spiritasty touch, to enjoy for aperitivo.
My other two favourite flavours are lemon and watermelon!
