Extra fluffy orange cake

You might say with butter it’s too easy to make it good. Probably. Butter makes everything so good. Just remember not to eat “so good” everyday… but in the meantime, enjoy this extra fluffy orange cake.

Positive: We are close to perfection here: moist and fluffy like no other cake I’ve ever tried before.

Negative: Too simple? No, you can’t even say that.


  • 1 orange
  • 2 eggs
  • 150 g butter

In your pantry:

  • 160 g flour
  • 160 g sugar
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder or baking soda


Preheat oven to 180°. Grease and flour a cake pan.

In a large bowl, beat eggs with sugar (here it’s probably best to use an electric mixer) to obtain a smoothy consistency.

Add flour and baking powder. Melt butter and add it and mix well.

Add orange juice and zest to the mixture and combine.

Pour mixture in the cake pan and bake in oven for 40 minutes.

Allow cake to cool completely before removing it from the pan.

My advice: This is an awesome but basic recipe. You could try with lemon or lime instead of orange. You could add chocolate chips, or cinnamon or nuts. Just let me know! :)
