Oatmeal bars (3 ingredients)

Looking for inspiration on internet I have been trapped down the rabbit hole, forgetting what I was looking for or if I was looking for something, and I discovered a recipe to use a small chestnut cream from France that I owned for quite a while. Here is my version.

Positive: The satisfaction to make biscuits with only a few ingredients. Crunchy and much better than industrial cereal bars.

Negative: Mmm… no, really nothing negative about it.

  • 100 g chestnut cream
  • 50 g butter
  • 140 oatmeal

In your pantry:

  • 40 g honey
  • salt

Preheat oven to 180°C.

In a small pan, melt butter and honey on low heat. Stir well and turn off heat once melted.

Add chestnut cream, a pinch of salt and stir. Then add oatmeal and combine well all the ingredients.

Cover a baking tray with parchment paper and pour the mixture over. Flatten with a spoon/spatula and place in oven for about 15 minutes.

My advice: Keep your oatmeal bars in an airtight glass jar for 2-3 days maximum or they will loose their crunchiness.
