Yummy apple crumble

When was last time you enjoyed a good apple crumble? Well if you have apples at home you probably already have everything to make it, so let’s get started!

Positive: Easy, cheap, plus you can make this dessert all year, with whatever fruit you have.

Negative: 25 minutes of baking then another 30 minutes before to eat it unless you are willing to burn your tongue… sounds like an eternity!

Ingredients for 2:

  • 2 apples
  • 75 g butter
  • cinnamon to taste (optional)

In your pantry:

  • 75 g flour
  • 50 g sugar


Preaheat oven to 180°C.

Peel and core apples. Cut into small dice and place in a previously buttered baking pan. You might want to add a dash of lemon juice over the apples. Place in oven while making the crumble (about 10 minutes).

Put flour, sugar (I used brown sugar), butter cut into small pieces in a jar. Combine ingredients and crumble with your hands to obtain a sandy-like texture. Add cinnamon to taste (I used half of a teaspoon) and mix well.

Take out baking pan from oven and top the fruit dice with your crumble and place back in oven for 20 minutes then 5 more minutes on grill so your crumble will be very crunchy.

Leave apple crumble to cool a bit before to eat. It will be yummy either slightly warm served with vanilla ice-cream than cold on its own.

My advice: I used one apple and one pear this time, but you really can use almost whatever fruit you have: apple, pear, banana, kiwi, apricot, peach, plum,…
